Biography

Dr. Erin Wehrman is an assistant professor in the department of communication. Her research focuses on interpersonal and family communication during periods of stress or crisis. In particular, Dr. Wehrman examines how relational partners cope and manage identity within a variety of contexts including grief, military service and chronic illness. She has published research in academic journals such as Death Studies, Communication Quarterly, Journal of Family Communication and Qualitative Health Research. Additionally, Dr. Wehrman is also active in the application of research by presenting workshops and seminars on interpersonal communication topics for local and state organizations, often in connection with the Center for Dispute Resolution.
