Three-Year Degree Plans

Communication studies track

The three-year degree plan was created to demonstrate that it is possible for you to graduate in six regular and three summer semesters. However, a three-year degree plan is not best suited for every student. It assumes:

  • No remedial coursework is required.
  • The student does not fail any classes.
  • The student does not change either the major or minor.
  • The student is willing to take classes each summer.

Also, a three-year degree plan does not take into account dual credit or transfer credit that you may bring with you upon admission to the University. Please remember that course availability and prerequisites are subject to change, so consult with your advisor when scheduling your classes.

Degree options

The communication department offers both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science option for each degree and track.

Bachelor of Arts

For a Bachelor of Arts degree, you will need to complete 12 hours of a foreign language, History 103 and History 104, a philosophy course and six hours of fine arts. Both the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Communication are non-comprehensive degree options, which require that you complete a minor.
