As a transfer student to the University, the courses you took at your previous Universities will be evaluated to determine what credit you will receive at Missouri State. For more information about the transfer process, visit the office of admissions.
Within the department of communication, you may have your transfer course reevaluated. You must submit a complete catalog description of the course and a copy of your class syllabus is preferred, especially for the general education public speaking course. The department head will review the documents you provide and contact you directly about his or her decision.
As a transfer student in the department of communication, you are invited to schedule an appointment with the department head to determine what requirements you have left to complete. In some cases, you may be pre-approved to take an online course at the University while concurrently enrolled at your current school. This allows you to begin fulfilling program requirements at the University.
We work closely with each transfer student to develop a personalized degree plan to complete your degree in a timely fashion. With most students who have completed an associate of arts degree, our degrees may be completed in two years taking 15 hours per semester. Please make an appointment with our transfer advisor, Dr. Kelly Wood, to discuss your options. You can contact her at 417-836-5407 to make an appointment, or email her directly at KellyWood@MissouriState.edu.
