A form of financial support for graduate students available through the Department of Communication is a graduate assistantship. A limited number of departmental assistantships are awarded annually on a competitive basis. Applications selected to receive an assistantship offer may be assigned a teaching assistantship, an administrative assistantship, or a research assistantship.
An assistantship requires a work load of approximately 20 hours per week and all graduate assistants must complete a minimum of six hours of graduate course work during each semester of appointment. These assistantships are renewable for up to two calendar years and include both a stipend and a tuition and fee waiver scholarship.

To apply for an assistantship, complete the application at the link below and send the letter of recommendation link to three references who are qualified to evaluate your suitability for an assistantship position. Assistantship decisions for fall semester will begin in early February. All application materials should be submitted by February 1.
