The ethical leadership minor is designed to give you an understanding of the theoretical and practical implications of ethical leadership within the public affairs mission of Missouri State University. This program develops your ability to affect positive change in your community and workplace. You will learn how to facilitate shared group goals and practice leadership in a variety of contexts, from social movements to organizational change.

Minor requirements

To complete a minor in ethical leadership, you must fulfill the requirements listed below:

Bachelor of Science in Education (Non-Certifiable)
  1. COM 436(3), 413(3); and COM 360(3) or 412(3).
  2. One course from: COM 205(3), 322(3), 315(3), 326(3).
  3. Two courses from: COM 206(3), 307(3), 332(3), 336(3), 405(3), 406(3), 466(3), 495(3); GST 170(3); HST 324(3); PHI 302(3), 313(3), 342(3); PLS 319(3); PSY 320(3), 379(3), REL 370(3).
  4. No more than 6 hours may also count toward a major.

Students majoring in Communication Studies cannot complete a minor administered within the Department of Communication, Media, Journalism and Film.

Courses counted toward this minor cannot be counted toward a major in Public Relations.

Although a minor is not required for the Speech and Theatre Education major, students may select the Ethical Leadership minor in the Department of Communication, Media, Journalism and Film as an optional minor.
