Scholarships

Financial Assistance
The Office of Financial Aid offers a number of scholarships and awards for students meeting qualifications, including grade point average, minimum credit hour status and financial need. The Department of Communication also has developed scholarships specifically targeted for its majors, a number of which are listed below.
The following scholarships are awarded annually to students majoring in communication at Missouri State.

The Faculty Scholarship in Communication
Awarded to a promising undergraduate student who has declared a major in communication and completed at least 30 hours with a 3.0 cumulative g.p.a. and a 3.0 in the departmental core.

Holt V. Spicer Scholarship
Recipient must be a full-time junior or senior Communication major with a 3.0 cumulative g.p.a.

The Russell Keeling Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate Communication major who demonstrates a commitment to public affairs and citizenship.

The Donal and Vicki Stanton Scholarship
Awarded to an outstanding student majoring in Socio-political Communication.

The Adams Public Service Internship
Provides financial support to Communication students serving unpaid internships in the non-profit or government arenas.

Chris Sifford Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a communication or journalism major at the sophomore level or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will given to students from following counties: Boone, Cole, Audrain, Callaway, Moniteau, Cooper, Howard and Randolph, Stoddard and Greene.

William Carrington Memorial Debate Scholarship
Student must be the best debater of the year.

Virginia Craig Memorial Scholarship
Student must show promise for achievement in a prominent national debate program.

Christina S. Drale Graduate Scholarship
Richard R. Stovall Graduate Scholarship
