Teaching and Research Areas
Public speaking, listening, intercultural communication
"My area of research has been in family and intercultural communication, particularly families which have adopted cross culturally. My methodological approach has been largely qualtitative, relying primarily upon a Systems approach to studying families. While I teach primarily Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication, I have taught Small Group Communication,Communication Theory and Public Relations. And whenever possible, I try to indulge my love of the arts - especially heater - by teaching intersession classes combining Communication theory with theater; i.e. Neil Simon: Interpersonal Conflict and Comedy."
