Here is a summary of admission requirements for specific graduate programs in Communication.
Master of Arts
- Student must have received an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university;

Applicant must have undergraduate degree in communication or related discipline or have at least 15 hours in communication to demonstrate an adequate background for graduate study in the field of communication;

Applicant must submit scores for either the General Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) prior to the beginning of the second semester of coursework;

Student must have obtained a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the last 60 hours of coursework OR a GPA of at least 2.75 in the last 60 hours of coursework AND a score of at least 500 on the verbal section of the GRE and a score of 425 or above on the quantitative section of the GRE or a score on the MAT in the 50th percentile or higher;

Students who do not meet the normal admission requirements but who show an indication of high promise may be considered for probationary admission.
Master of Science in Administrative Studies/Applied Communication Option
- Student must have a bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by agencies recognized by Missouri State University or equivalent education from a foreign university;
- Student must have at least a 2.75 GPA on a 4.00 scale, or 2.75 on a 4.00 scale for the last 60 hours of coursework;
- Applicant must submit evidence of three years of relevant work experience;

Applicant must have a combined score of 1300 on the GRE or equivalent score on the General Management Admissions Test (GMAT);
- Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation;
- Student must meet all University and Graduate College requirements for admission to a graduate degree program.
Graduate Certificate in Conflict and Dispute Resolution
To be considered for the program the applicant must have a 3.00 grade point average as well as apply and be admitted to the Graduate College. Students who do not meet the normal admission requirements but who show an indication of high promise may be considered for probationary admission. Probationary conditions will be determined by the Graduate Director. Admission to the certificate program does not constitute admission to any other Missouri State University graduate program.
